The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckle throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Buckle avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hagler tries a head kick but it misses.

Buckle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hagler defends it easily.

Hagler throws out a loose jab but Buckle uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hagler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Buckle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hagler.

That was a close round but I would say that Marvin Hagler will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Horace Buckle's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Buckle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Buckle fails to land with a series of punches.

Hagler has closed the distance and engaged Buckle in a clinch.

Hagler moves in looking to clinch but Buckle pushes him off.

Hagler throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Hagler lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hagler goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Buckle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hagler scores with a head kick. Buckle tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Buckle tries to keep at a distance but Hagler has taken the fight into the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Hagler - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hagler fakes the leg kick and cracks Buckle in the body.
That kick from Hagler tenderised Buckle's leg. Buckle is trying to keep his angry face on.

Good leg kick by Hagler there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Hagler cracks Buckle with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hagler throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Buckle is still on wobbly legs! Can Hagler finish him?
Hagler wants to clinch.
Buckle takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Marvin Hagler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hagler feints and then cracks Buckle's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Buckle down.

Hagler lands a big head kick that sends Buckle tumbling to the mat! Hagler takes a step backwards and waves Buckle back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Buckle has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hagler.

Hagler lands a big head kick that sends Buckle to the canvas! Hagler follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
