Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregores Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corleone comes to the cage accompanied by Direct Hit!/Mixtapes - Werewolf Shame. Mendez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Paleface- Helsinki-Shangri-La kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corleone looks to land a right hand but Mendez moved out of range.

Corleone is nestled in close to Mendez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Corleone is taking a breather. Mendez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Corleone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mendez is just riding it out for now. Corleone eventually gives up the hold.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mendez throws a series of strikes and Corleone wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.

Mendez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Mendez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Corleone manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Corleone, under a barage of strikes from Mendez.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A close round but Gregores Mendez will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mendez throws out a loose jab but Corleone uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mendez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Corleone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Mendez gets caught flat footed, as Corleone shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mendez is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Corleone frees his head nicely. Oh but Mendez has switched to an armbar! Corleone is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
