Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Diebler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson has chosen Massive Attack - Teardrop as his entrance music. James Anderson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Diebler!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diebler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Anderson was covering up waiting for the punch and Diebler finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Diebler throwing strikes but missing.
Diebler throws an elbow that misses. Anderson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Diebler's guard. Nice move by Anderson!
Diebler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Anderson!
Diebler manages to capitalize on a mistake by Anderson to take his back!
Diebler lands an elbow to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diebler controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diebler lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Anderson.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Can Anderson hold on?! Diebler is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Diebler just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Diebler's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Anderson is trying to break free.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Diebler controlling the positon.
Diebler scores with strikes from the back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diebler keeps control of the position as Anderson tries to break free.
Diebler gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Anderson wants to escape the position.
Diebler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Diebler.

What can Anderson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Diebler is looking for the choke from the back position but Anderson is controlling his hands well.
Diebler is riding his opponent, not letting Anderson buck him off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diebler controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Diebler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anderson.
Anderson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Diebler closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Anderson did well to prevent Diebler getting side control.

Diebler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Diebler has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Anderson is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Jon Diebler!
