Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ismael Gesta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Apolinario Mabini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mabini comes into a darkened arena with his song building. BODIES!!! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gesta feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mabinis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Apolinario Mabini has been cut.
Gesta gets caught flat footed, as Mabini shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mabini drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mabini jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mabini pushes down on Gesta's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gesta on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gesta tries to get out of the position.
Gesta is in trouble now - Mabini has advanced to mount!
Mabini wants to finish this one by submission but Gesta is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mabini.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mabini is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gesta to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gesta shrugs it off.
Mabini is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gesta can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gesta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mabini on the ground.

Gesta is bucking up trying to escape but Mabini cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mabini is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gesta can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mabini jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gesta walks away with a smile on his face. Mabini gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ismael Gesta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Apolinario Mabini.
