The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Critico clinches with his opponent.
Maynard has Critico pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Maynard pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Critico tumbling to the mat - Maynard dives into Critico's guard.
Maynard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Maynard wants to control from the top but Critico keeps moving.
Maynard throws an elbow that misses. Critico uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maynard's guard. Nice move by Critico!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maynard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Critico on the ground.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maynard scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Maynard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Critico fails to pull guard.
Maynard turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Maynard manages to end up in side control.
Critico trying to remain calm as Maynard controls from the top position.
Maynard grinds an elbow into Critico's temple.
Maynard lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Critico down.
Critico is rocked!
Maynard lands a strong strike to the head of Critico. That's dazed him! Maynard looking to finish here. Critico is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Maynard lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gray Maynard!
In his post fight interview, Gray Maynard started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
