The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gbagbo lands with a right hand.
It looks like Kamikaze Kid has been cut.
Gbagbo lands a two punch combo.
Gbagbo scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kid shoots in for a takedown but Gbagbo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gbagbo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gbagbo wants it to stay on the feet.
Gbagbo scores with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gbagbo, right into the meat.
Kid dives in and grabs Gbagbo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gbagbo pushes down on Kid's head and hops out.
Laurent Gbagbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamikaze Kid.
Gbagbo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gbagbo scores with a head kick.
Kid looks gassed!
Kid gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gbagbo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That has opened up Kamikaze Kid's cut even more.
Oooooh!!! Gbagbo has knocked Kid down with a huge combo! Gbagbo steps away and waves a wobbly Kid back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Kid is rocked!
The cut above Kamikaze Kid's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Gbagbo cracks Kid with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kid tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gbagbo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kid is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Laurent Gbagbo!
