Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolls Royce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jian Lieu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rolls Royce has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rolls Royce!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jian Lieu!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royce shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lieu pinned against the cage. Lieu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lieu stuffs the takedown.
Royce shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rolls Royce. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Royce misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Royce gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lieu.
Royce takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lieu thows a body shot but no joy.
Royce shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lieu as he jumps to the side.
Lieu throws out a powerful jab.
Lieu waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Royce.
Royce displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lieu throws out the jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Royce shoots in but Lieu avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Royce fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lieu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Royce stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lieu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Royces jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Royce dives in and grabs Lieu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lieu pushes down on Royce's head and hops out.
Royce ducks under a wild hook from Lieu.
Royce tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lieu swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Royce is defended easily by Lieu.
Royce is breathing heavily.

Lieu sends Royce crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Lieu is motioning to the referee to let Royce up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Royce is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circling - Lieu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Oh Royce is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lieu throws a hook to the side of Royce's head but Royce sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Royce.
Jian Lieu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A slow jab from Lieu misses its intended target.
Lieu loads up on a big right hand but Royce slips the punch.
Lieu misses with a looping left.
Royce slips a jab from Lieu.
Royce seems to have got his legs back now.
Lieu lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Royce falls backwards - clearly groggy! Lieu dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jian Lieu!
Jian Lieu is the new lightweight champion!
