Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Abrahms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flare comes to the cage accompanied by Also Sprach Zarathustra. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tank Abrahms!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flare scores with a takedown into Abrahms's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Flare wants to control from the top but Abrahms keeps moving.
Flare throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Flare looking to pass the guard.
Abrahms avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Abrahms controls Flare momentarily but Flare frees himself.
Flare prevents Abrahms from getting back to his feet.
Flare pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Abrahms is keeping the position for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flare accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Abrahms is looking to sweep but instead, Flare has passed into half guard.
Abrahms makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Abrahms.
Flare throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flare is looking to work some ground and pound but Abrahms has wrist control.
Abrahms is trying to control the position but Flare postures up.
Flare postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Flare is fighting to break Abrahms's control of his arms but Abrahms is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Flare is in close to Abrahms's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Flare stands up over Abrahms, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Flare throws and elbow that misses. Abrahms uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Flare's guard. Nice move by Abrahms!

Flare looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Abrahms got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flare has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Abrahms has managed to get both his arms back between Flare's legs - danger averted.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Flare isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Abrahms stacks Flare on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Abrahms!
Flare is looking for a sweep.
Flare gets back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Flare is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Abrahms pulls his head out easily.
Flare is trying to maintain the position but Abrahms is very close to passing his half guard.
Abrahms really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flare. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Abrahms wants to pass to mount but Flare is defending the position.
Flare has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Abrahms is working away from the top position though.

Flare is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Abrahms's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Abrahms's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flare scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Abrahms is looking for a way out.
Flare misses with an elbow to the head.
Flare controlling well, preventing Abrahms from escaping the position.
Abrahms is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Abrahms grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Flare is striking well from the back but Abrahms escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Abrahms won't allow Flare to pass to mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Flare lands a nice short elbow.
Flare seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Flare with the ground and pound but Abrahms uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Abrahms is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Flare loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Flare keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Abrahms's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Flare is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abrahms defends it well.

Flare has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Abrahms has momentary wrist control but Flare slips an elbow through the middle.

Abrahms manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Flare manages to get himself to full guard.
Flare lands a decent shot there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Abrahms postures up.
Abrahms looking to sit in guard and control but Flare gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flare postures up and lands a big shot to Abrahms's brow.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Flare shoots in looking for a takedown but Abrahms manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Flare's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Flare dives in and grabs Abrahms's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abrahms pushes down on Flare's head and hops out.

Tank Abrahms seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flare shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Abrahms as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Flare. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Abrahms tries to clinch
letting Flare counter with a right hand.

Flare cracks Abrahms with a good jab.
Abrahms tries to close the distance and clinch up but Flare swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Flare shoots in for a double leg but Abrahms sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Flare enables Abrahms to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Flare manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Flare is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Abrahms rolls with it to try and escape but Flare cranks on the arm and Abrahms is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
