Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorge Cordes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Demedici!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demedici throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cordes.
It looks like Jorge Cordes has been cut.
Demedici with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Cordes shoots in but Demedici avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cordes shoots in looking for a takedown but Demedici manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cordes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Demedici throws a head kick that Cordes semi-blocks.
Demedici looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Demedici keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Cordes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Demedici throws a head kick but Cordes moves out of range.
Cordes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Demedici as he jumps to the side.

Cordes shoots in looking for a takedown but Demedici manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cordes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Cordes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Demedici manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Demedici throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Demedici defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cordes.
Cordes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Demedici sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Demedici counters with a nice uppercut.
Cordes is breathing heavily.
Demedici throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cordes takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Demedici misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cordes takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Demedici lands a front kick.
Demedici lands a slapping body shot.
No joy there for Demedici, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cordes blocks a head kick by Demedici.
Cordes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Demedici paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cordes shoots for a double leg takedown but Demedici sprawls well. He's pushed Cordes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cordes wants to clinch.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Demedici.
Cordes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vincent Demedici is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A nice combination there by Demedici.

Cordes seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Demedici shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Cordes is backing up but Demedici catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Cordes covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Demedici Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vincent Demedici!
