Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Sichev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuri Sichev has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sichev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sichev gets slowly back to his feet.

Davis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Davis postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
You can see the frustration on Sichev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sichev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Davis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Davis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sichev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Sichev's legs - danger averted.

Sichev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
