PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Sleek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock has chosen The World's Most Dangerous Man as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock darts in and clinches Sleek up against the cage.
Shamrock working hard to break the clinch.
Shamrock tries to land a knee to the head but Sleek blocks with his arms.

Shamrock wants the takedown. Sleek is fighting it off but Shamrock persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sleek's guard against the cage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Shamrock slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sleek seems a little lost for a moment, as Shamrock dominates the positioning.
Sleek is looking for a sweep.

Shamrock stands up and beckons Sleek to his feet.
Shamrock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sleek scores with a jab to the head.

Sleek throws a jab when Shamrock was well out of range.
Sleek misses with a hook. Shamrock ducked under it nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sleek on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sleek misses with a hook to the ribs.
Shamrock wants a takedown.
Sleek swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sleek gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shamrock.
Jay Sleek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Shamrock.
Shamrock tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sleek is trying to break the clinch but Shamrock has him pressed against the cage.
Shamrock is pushing Sleek up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Shamrock has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sleek prevents a takedown attempt there.

Sleek swings wildly with an uppercut but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shamrock wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shamrock gets control of Sleek's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shamrock will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sleek trying to control the position from guard on top but Shamrock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shamrock has Sleek pulled in close to control his posture.
Sleek prevents Shamrock from getting back to his feet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Shamrock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sleek doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sleek manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Sleek.
Sleek connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shamrock's hands.

Sleek gets caught napping as Shamrock dives in and scores a takedown. Sleek manages to retain guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shamrock's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Shamrock not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sleek looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sleek trying to keep a closed guard but Shamrock is proving a slippery customer.

Ken Shamrock dominated that round.
That's time! Sleek's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shamrock pushes Sleek up against the cage in a clinch.
Shamrock tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sleek just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shamrock wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Sleek has a couple of punches blocked by Shamrock.
Shamrock blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shamrock fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Shamrock is working for takedown but Sleek is calmly controlling the position for now.

Shamrock is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sleek is defending well for now.

Shamrock tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sleek gets underhooks to prevent Shamrock's takedown attempt.
Shamrock has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sleek avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Shamrock has picked Sleek up - he's going for a ride! Shamrock dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Shamrock is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Sleek reverses the position - he's now on top in Shamrock's guard.
Shamrock is breathing heavily.
Sleek is standing up over Shamrock. Shamrock looks to escape but Sleek dives into side control.

Shamrock manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shamrock is looking to control Sleek's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shamrock avoid being mounted?
Shamrock is pressing down on Sleek's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shamrock is on top in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Jay Sleek wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Ken Shamrock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shamrock wants to stay close but Sleek steps back to make room for something. Shamrock seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Sleek and Shamrock drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
