Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jair Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayar Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lao is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dos Santos's half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Dos Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dos Santos wants it to stay on the feet.

Lao feints and as Dos Santos raises his hands in defense, Lao changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lao accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dos Santos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lao feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lao shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dos Santos's guard.

Dos Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lao scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dos Santos to see if he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee asks Lao politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lao prefers to stall for the moment though.
