Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Cullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Burns!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cullen dodges the punch combination from Burns.
No luck for Cullen with that takedown attempt.
Burns tries to bum rush Cullen with a series of wild strikes but Cullen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cullen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burns.

Cullen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burns as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cullen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Burns feints and then cracks Cullen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cullen down.
Cullen shoots in and drives through. Burns sprawls well.
Burns will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Cullen counters with a one-two to the body.
Cullen is looking to wear down Burns with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cullen checks a leg kick.
A combination from Burns does no damage.
Cullen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Burns falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cullen counters with a stiff right hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Cullen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cullen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Burns is now in Cullen's guard. A big mistake from Cullen there, giving up the dominant position!

Cullen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Burns is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cullen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Burns's back instead.

Cullen is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Burns knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Burns for a finish.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
