Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Ernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Shah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Ernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruslan Shah!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ernandez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ernandez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shah tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ernandez is in Shah's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Shah is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shah looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ernandez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shah swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ernandez content to stall in guard here.
Ernandez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ernandez throwing strikes but missing.
Shah preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ernandez sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cain Ernandez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Shah with a poor takedown

and Ernandez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shah's guard.

Ernandez gets to his feet. Shah looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ernandez tries a head kick but it misses.

Ernandez dives in and grabs Shah's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shah pushes down on Ernandez's head and hops out.

Ernandez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shah sprawls well initially but Ernandez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ernandez is looking to take a break and control but Shah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shah is trying to get back to full guard.
Ernandez is nestled in close to Shah, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Shah is looking to improve his position.

Ernandez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Shah is trying to get back to full guard.
Ernandez tries to pass to full mount but Shah defends it.
Ernandez stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cain Ernandez just wasn't active enough.

Ernandez gets a takedown into half guard.
Ernandez wants to pass to mount but Shah is defending the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shah is looking to control Ernandez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shah avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Ernandez dominated that round.
That's time! Ernandez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ernandez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shah is fending him off so far but Ernandez persists. Nope, Shah circles away and we're back to standing.

Ernandez instigates a clinch.

Ernandez gets control of Shah's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ernandez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shah throws a strike but Ernandez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ernandez trying to control but Shah is working from the bottom.
Shah wants to hit a switch here but Ernandez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shah there!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ernandez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Shah's face.
Ernandez avoids the attempt from Shah to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ernandez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Shah wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shah manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ernandez's guard. Nice work there by Shah.
Shah in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ernandez is pulling down on Shah's head to control his posture.
Shah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ernandez is on top in guard.

Ernandez has gone for a leg lock! Shah slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ernandez's guard.

Shah looking to pass the guard.
Ernandez keeping moving, preventing Shah from controlling successfully.
Shah is breathing heavily.
Ernandez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shah is desperately trying to improve his position but Ernandez has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ernandez looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ernandez is landing with some decent strikes but Shah is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shah is looking to improve his position but Ernandez isn't that keen on the idea.
Ernandez controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cain Ernandez dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Ernandez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Shah manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shah can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ernandez controls the pace.
Shah is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Shah working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Ernandez's thigh. Ernandez counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Ernandez tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shah postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Shah postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ernandez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shah, into his guard.
Shah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shah takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Shah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ernandez's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shah is looking to advance position but Ernandez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Ernandez controlling from the full mount.
Shah is desperately trying to improve his position but Ernandez has a good base and remains in mount.
A nice elbow there by Ernandez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cain Ernandez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shah is looking to improve his position but Ernandez isn't that keen on the idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ernandez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Shah gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ernandez drops an elbow to the side of Shah's head.
Ruslan Shah has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cain Ernandez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ernandez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
