PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yechezkel Quackenboss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tappa Kappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yechezkel Quackenboss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tappa Kappa!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quackenboss wants to clinch.
Quackenboss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kappa tries to clinch up.
Quackenboss throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kappa.

Quackenboss pushes Kappa up against the cage in a clinch.
Quackenboss tries to pull guard but Kappa won't allow it.
Kappa will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Quackenboss up against the cage.
Kappa gets underhooks to prevent Quackenboss's takedown attempt.

Quackenboss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kappa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Quackenboss throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kappa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Quackenboss lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kappa!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quackenboss jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kappa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kappa is trying to get back to half guard.

Quackenboss is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kappa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kappa is pushing Quackenboss's head away, looking to escape. Quackenboss manages to hold on to the position though.

Kappa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Quackenboss really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kappa looks to move to half guard but instead Quackenboss has passed into mount! Damn!

Quackenboss working for a guillotine from mount but Kappa is in no mood to give up.
Quackenboss wants to control the pace but Kappa is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Quackenboss jumps guard and drags Kappa to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kappa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quackenboss swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kappa wants to control from the top but Quackenboss keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Quackenboss throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Quackenboss wants to sweep here but Kappa controlling him for the moment.
Kappa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quackenboss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Quackenboss can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kappa controls the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Quackenboss is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kappa frees his head nicely. Oh but Quackenboss has switched to an armbar! Kappa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
