Hogan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Hogan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Veli sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Veli manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hogan's best efforts.

Hogan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hogan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Veli pulls Hogan in close to prevent any damage.

Veli cracks a nice hook into Hogan's ribs.
Hogan dives in and grabs Veli's left leg, looking for a takedown. Veli pushes down on Hogan's head and hops out.

Hogan has hold of one of Veli's legs. Veli is fighting the takedown attempt but Hogan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Veli wants to free his trapped foot but Hogan is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hogan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Veli gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Veli lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hogan backwards.

Veli throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hogans head.

Veli drops Hogan onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Hogan is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Hogan is rocked!
Veli tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hogan is still on wobbly legs! Can Veli finish him?
Veli lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Hogan to his knees! Veli keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
