Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Cavalera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremiah Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera connects with a leg kick. Smith looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Jesus Cavalera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Cavalera does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cavalera lands a nice shot to the body.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Cavalera counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Cavalera scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Cavalera counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Smith looks gassed!

Cavalera drops Smith with a nice combination! Cavalera dives into Smith's guard, looking to finish!


Smith is rocked!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cavalera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Cavalera finish him?

Cavalera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cavalera advances to half guard.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Cavalera looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cavalera is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Smith wants to control but Cavalera is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cavalera is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smith has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smith!
Cavalera is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cavalera trying to pass the guard but Smith defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cavalera is working for a submission of some sort.
Cavalera wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position.
Cavalera wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith is controlling Cavalera's trapped leg to prevent Cavalera from advancing to side control.

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Cavalera.
Cavalera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cavalera uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith tries to hold on but Cavalera pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Cavalera dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cavalera.
Cavalera throws a head kick that half lands.
Cavalera throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Smith.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cavalera on the side of the head.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Cavalera - that will leave a mark!
A punch lands to the side of Smith 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Cavalera! Smith is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jesus Cavalera!
