PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Lennox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Tiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lennox comes to the cage accompanied by Kasabian- Vlad the Impaler. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse Lennox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Black Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Lennox darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Lennox fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lennox throws a leg kick but Tiger sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Tiger avoids the head kick by Lennox.
Tiger blocks a low kick nicely.
Lennox misses with a two punch combination.
Jesse Lennox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lennox throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tiger stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Lennox counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lennox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lennox!
Lennox uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tiger has time to react.
Lennox defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tiger.
Tiger misses with a hook.
Lennox misses with a head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lennox is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Tiger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Tiger manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Tiger misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tiger sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Lennox wants to get back to his feet.
Tiger controlling the pace for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesse Lennox will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lennox scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tiger throws a head kick but Lennox moves out of range.

Tiger dives in and grabs Lennox's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lennox pushes down on Tiger's head and hops out.

Tiger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lennox pinned against the cage. Lennox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jesse Lennox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Tiger.

Tiger closes the distance and clinches up with Lennox, looking for a takedown. Tiger pushes Lennox against the cage but Lennox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lennox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tiger moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lennox shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tiger eats them both and turns towards Lennox to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Lennox keeps the fight on the outside.
Lennox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tiger paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lennox throws a head kick but Tiger moves out of range.
Lennox avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lennox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lennox lands a glancing blow to the side of Tiger's head.

Tiger shoots in for a double leg but Lennox sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tiger is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lennox.
Tiger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lennox swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lennox shoots in looking for a takedown but Tiger manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lennox's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Tiger gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lennox wants to stand but Tiger has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lennox stands up and waves to Tiger to follow him.
Tiger walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lennox looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tiger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lennox scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tiger misses with a two punch combination.

Lennox has managed to clinch.
Lennox letting Tiger take a breather here.

Jesse Lennox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Tiger shoots in but no luck this time.
Lennox throws a one two combo.
A leg kick checked by Tiger.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tiger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tiger avoids the head kick by Lennox.
Lennox keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Tiger, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lennox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tiger.

Tiger moves into the clinch successfully.
Lennox wants to break the clinch but can't.

Lennox tries to bum rush Tiger with a series of wild strikes but Tiger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lennox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tiger manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tiger has Lennox pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lennox manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lennox is trying to push Tiger away but Tiger has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lennox wants to break free but Tiger has control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lennox can't break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Lennox's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Tiger jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lennox walks away with a smile on his face. Tiger gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Tiger is working for takedown but Lennox is calmly controlling the position for now.

Lennox wants to get back to striking at distance but Tiger won't allow it.

Lennox stuffs the takedown attempt from Tiger. Tiger gets slowly back to his feet.
Tiger shoots in for a takedown but Lennox shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lennox moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lennox lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tiger fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lennox avoids it really well and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tiger takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Tiger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lennox circles away.

Lennox goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tiger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lennox pinned against the cage. Lennox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lennox works over Tiger's head and body with a nice combination.
Lennox lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tiger shoots in looking for a takedown but Lennox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tiger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Nice takedown defense from Lennox. No joy for Tiger on that attempt.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jesse Lennox.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lennox, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
