PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Kudinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kudinov comes into the arena with hollywood undead- undead blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Kudinov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trevor Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kudinov is looking to clinch but Barnes is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Barnes or perhaps it was just good defense by Kudinov which made him look bad.
Barnes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kudinov slaps away a takedown attempt from Barnes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Andrew Kudinov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Barnes.
Kudinov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kudinov throws a one two combo.
Kudinov leaves Barnes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kudinov tries to clinch up but Barnes circles away and keeps his distance.

Barnes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Barnes postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kudinov tries to escape but Barnes is in control.

Barnes goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kudinov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Barnes's guard! Nice work there by Kudinov!
Kudinov wants to stand but Barnes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Barnes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kudinov!

Barnes lands a big shot there that rocks Kudinov but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Barnes cracks Kudinov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kudinov is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Barnes unloads with some shots from mount but Kudinov bucks and avoids them well.
The referee warns Kudinov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barnes is nestled in close to Kudinov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kudinov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barnes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kudinov stuffs the takedown attempt from Barnes. Barnes gets slowly back to his feet.
Kudinov misses with a few strikes there.
Barnes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kudinov defends it nicely.
Kudinov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Barnes eats them both and turns towards Kudinov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Kudinov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Barnes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kudinov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kudinov lands a head shot.
Barnes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kudinov swivels and escapes.
Andrew Kudinov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Barnes.

Barnes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kudinov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ground and pound from Barnes seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Barnes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kudinov, who protects the arm well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee asks Barnes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barnes prefers to stall for the moment though.

Kudinov is not content to let Barnes control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Barnes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kudinov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Barnes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kudinov manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kudinov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Trevor Barnes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Barnes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Barnes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kudinov sprawls well initially but Barnes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Barnes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Barnes is landing with some decent strikes but Kudinov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Kudinov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barnes drops a big elbow. That's hurt Kudinov! More shots from Barnes and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

A less than humble Trevor Barnes misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
