PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vazren Rigogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Epps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rigogo comes to the cage accompanied by Parapapapa. On his way into the cage it seems that Vazren Rigogo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vazren Rigogo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vazren Rigogo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Epps!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Epps swings widly with a right hand
and Rigogo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Rigogo gets the takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rigogo lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.


It looks like Aaron Epps has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rigogo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Epps is avoiding damage well.
Epps is trying to get back to his feet.
Rigogo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Rigogo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Epps, who protects the arm well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
An elbow from Rigogo crashes against the mat.

Rigogo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rigogo staying calm.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rigogo wants to control but Epps is keeping him busy.
Rigogo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Rigogo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Epps is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rigogo asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rigogo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Epps down.
Epps dodges the ground and pound from Rigogo.
Rigogo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Rigogo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Epps is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Epps takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.


That has opened up Aaron Epps's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Aaron Epps's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Vazren Rigogo!
Vazren Rigogo retains his heavyweight title!
