Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stuart Wray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Howard Spray!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Spray crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wray - the referee stops the clock and Spray gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wray. Spray manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Spray tries to clinch up.
Wray misses with a double jab.
Wray wants to clinch up but Spray keeps it at a distance.

Spray doesn't manage to clinch there - Wray circles away.
Wray throws a leg kick which misses Spray's front leg but catches the back leg as Spray tries to avoid it.

Wray keeps the fight on the outside.
Spray shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Spray, pushing him back against the ropes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Spray shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wray as he jumps to the side.
Spray buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Spray misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wray tries to keep at a distance but Spray has taken the fight into the clinch.

Spray is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Wray gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stuart Wray will probably get the nod.

The crowd cheers as Wray lands an impressive looking overhand right. Spray doesn't seem phased though.
Wray throws a series of punches but Spray avoids them all with ease.
Spray is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wray.
Wray throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Wray has taken the fight to the clinch.
Spray is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Spray has hold of one of Wray's legs. Wray is fighting the takedown attempt but Spray gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Spray is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Wray pulls his head out easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spray can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wray throws an elbow but Spray slips to the side and avoids it well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Wray counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Spray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Spray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Spray has control of Wray's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wray regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Wray is defending against the submission attempts here by Spray.

Wray lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Spray!

Wray wants to finish this one by submission but Spray is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wray.

Spray is bucking up trying to escape but Wray cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Spray is desperately trying to improve his position but Wray has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee warns Spray that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Spray can't escape the position.
Spray avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wray.
Spray really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wray wants to control the pace but Spray is squirming around nicely.
Wray fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Howard Spray has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Wray has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
