The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a head kick but Madeiros moves out of range.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson.
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Madeiros shoots in.
Johnson lands a leg kick that knocks Madeiros off balance momentarily.
Johnson throws a wild body kick that Madeiros sees coming a mile off.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Johnson, right into the meat.
Johnson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Madeiros back to the cage. Johnson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Duarte Madeiros has been cut.

Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Madeiros is proving a slippery customer.
Madeiros wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Madeiros is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Madeiros and Johnson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Johnson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Johnson wants to stand but Madeiros is controlling his arm.
Johnson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Madeiros is avoiding damage well.
Johnson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Johnson misses with a head shot. Madeiros uses the momentum to regain guard.

Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Madeiros is proving hard to escape from.

Madeiros is looking to sinch up a triangle. Johnson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Madeiros's body to avoid the submission. Madeiros has instead reached around Johnson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Madeiros arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
