Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean VonFoster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ville Valo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Ville Valo enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean VonFoster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ville Valo!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Valo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

VonFoster gets a clinch.
Valo is trying to force a seperation but VonFoster has the dominant position.
VonFoster can't get the takedown.
VonFoster throws an elbow but it's blocked.
VonFoster has Valo pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Valo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
VonFoster is trying to drag Valo to the mat but Valo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean VonFoster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
VonFoster tries to pull guard but Valo won't allow it.
Valo is trying to force a seperation but VonFoster has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Valo's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Valo wants to stand and escape but instead VonFoster has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
VonFoster will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

VonFoster throws a push kick but Valo slaps the foot to one side.
Nice straight punches there by Valo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Valo.

VonFoster fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Valo, pushing him back against the ropes.
VonFoster can't get the takedown.
VonFoster tries to score a body lock takedown but Valo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
VonFoster misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Valo.
VonFoster keeps control of Valo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

VonFoster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

VonFoster has closed the distance and engaged Valo in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
VonFoster drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Valo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Valo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

VonFoster has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Valo uses from the top position.

Valo throws and elbow that misses. VonFoster uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Valo's guard. Nice move by VonFoster!

We're going to have a standup here because Sean VonFoster wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
VonFoster throws a body punch but Valo moves out of range.
Valo misses with a few strikes there.
VonFoster tries to clinch there but Valo circles away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by VonFoster!
Valo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Valo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valo misses with a double jab.

VonFoster has managed to clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by VonFoster.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Valo misses with a body shot.
Valo looks to land a combination but VonFoster avoids it well.
Valo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Valo tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. VonFoster manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

VonFoster rushes Valo and presses him up against the ropes.

VonFoster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
VonFoster displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Valo throws out the jab.

Sean VonFoster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
VonFoster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Valo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as VonFoster backs up against the ropes.


It looks like Sean VonFoster has been cut.

VonFoster drives through with a takedown into Valo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

VonFoster passes into half guard.
Valo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Valo is breathing heavily.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
VonFoster wants to control the pace but Valo is squirming around nicely.

Sean VonFoster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Valo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with VonFoster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Valo keeps the fight on the outside.
VonFoster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Valo tries to avoid it but VonFoster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Valo to the ground. Valo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Valo misses with a looping left.

VonFoster darts in and clinches Valo up against the ropes.
Valo wants to get back to striking at distance but VonFoster won't allow it.
VonFoster misses with an elbow strike.
VonFoster tries to pull guard but Valo won't allow it.
Valo is trying to break the clinch but VonFoster is controlling him.
VonFoster keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Valo's efforts to push away.
VonFoster tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Valo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

and VonFoster counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Valo!

VonFoster has hold of Valo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Valo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
VonFoster unloads with some shots from mount but Valo bucks and avoids them well.

VonFoster sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
VonFoster fails to advance to Valo's back.
VonFoster trying to control but Valo is having none of it.

Valo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from VonFoster.
Valo is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! VonFoster has taken his back!

VonFoster tries to get the hooks in deep but Valo pushed the leg off.

VonFoster struggling to land strikes to the head as Valo covers up.

VonFoster is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Valo taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from VonFoster.
