Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alex Bortman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauricio Machado!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Machado showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bortman.
Bortman scores with a sloppy right hand. Machado should have avoided that one.
A head kick misses from Machado.
Machado with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Machado misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Machado connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Alex Bortman has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Machado drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Machado turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bortman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Machado.
Bortman throws a sloppy head kick and Machado moves out of range easily.
Machado shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Alex Bortman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machado misses with a low kick.
Machado blocks a head kick by Bortman.
Bortman dodges the punch combination from Machado.
Bortman throws an overhand right that lands on Machado's shoulder, as Machado tries to avoid the shot.
Bortman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Machado manages to avoid it.

Machado throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bortman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bortman feints a jab promting Machado to slip. Bortman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Machado slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Mauricio Machado has been cut.
Bortman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Machado misses with a looping left.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machado throws the left hand but Bortman avoids the punch easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Machado.
Machado throws a head kick but Bortman moves out of range.
Machado throws a big shot that misses.
A lazy left from Bortman finds it's target.
Machado misses the shot to the body.
Bortman moves out of range of the body kick from Machado.
Bortman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Machado misses the target.
Whack! Bortman lands a heavy head kick that drops Machado. The ref tackles Bortman to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Machado was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Alex Bortman!
After winning the bout, Alex Bortman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
