Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazar Nimirov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chaka Mababa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mababa has chosen Street Fighting Man as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mababa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nimirov.
Nimirov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mababa.

Nimirov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mababa momentarily.

Chaka Mababa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mababa throws a sloppy head kick and Nimirov moves out of range easily.
Nimirov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mababa is trying to control the position but Nimirov postures up.

Mababa has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Nimirov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mababa is trying to stand up here but Nimirov is controlling him well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nimirov takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Mababa is looking to clinch.
Nimirov lands with a shot to the body.

Nice takedown defense from Nimirov. No joy for Mababa on that attempt.

Nimirov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nimirov is looking to wear down Mababa with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Nimirov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mababa manages to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nimirov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mababa is still on wobbly legs! Can Nimirov finish him?
Mababa glances at the clock... BAM! Nimirov nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Mababa crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Mababa is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lazar Nimirov!
