PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Petter Anier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deki Stankovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stankovic has chosen Kosovo-Vidovdan as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deki Stankovic!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anier rushes Stankovic and presses him up against the cage.
Anier prevents a body shot from Stankovic.
Stankovic swings wildly with an uppercut but Anier uses good head movement to avoid it.

Anier manages to break the clinch.
Anier dives in and grabs Stankovic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stankovic pushes down on Anier's head and hops out.

Anier tries to close the distance and clinch but Stankovic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Anier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Anier tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Anier is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stankovic defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Anier thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anier is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Stankovic is defending well though. Anier let's go of the attempt for now.
Stankovic is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Anier off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
