Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elmer Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holt has chosen Country Boys Can Survive by Hank Williams Jr as his entrance music. Elmer Ray has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elmer Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Holt!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray slaps away a takedown attempt from Holt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Holt fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ray keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ray clinches up with Holt and pushes him back against the cage.
Ray is pressed up against the cage. Holt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ray down to the mat. Ray avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Elmer Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Holt.
Ray circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ray has taken the fight to the clinch.
Holt looking for a takedown.
Holt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ray avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Holt tries for a takedown but Ray manages to get underhooks.
Ray manages to break the clinch.
Holt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ray moves away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ray darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Major Holt has been cut.
Holt has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ray.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ray shoots in for a takedown but Holt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ray takes the fight into the clinch.
Holt drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ray gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ray throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Holts head.
Ray has clasped his hands together around Holt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Holt gets back to half guard.
Ray wants to take a breather but Holt is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ray is looking for a kimura here.
Holt wants to improve his position but Ray is controlling well.
Ray is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ray winds up and cracks Holt with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ray wants to work for an arm triangle but Holt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Holt looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ray is looking to take a break and control but Holt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Holt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ray is working away from the top position though.
Ray has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ray is looking for a kimura here.

Holt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ray pulls his head out easily.
Ray works his foot free and advances to mount.
Ray is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Ray drives through and clinches with Holt against the cage.
Ray stops a takedown attempt from Holt.
Ray has picked Holt up - he's going for a ride! Ray dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ray winds up and cracks Holt with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Holt is trying to get back to full guard.

Holt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ray is working away from the top position though.
Holt manages to get to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Holt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Holt looks gassed!
Holt throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ray escapes and throws Holt's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Ray stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ray closes the distance and pushes Holt back into the cage.
Holt is working for takedown but Ray is calmly controlling the position for now.
Ray pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elmer Ray dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Major Holt's cut.
That's time! Ray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ray displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Holt.
Ray gets a clinch.
Holt drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ray pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ray lands a right hook to the body.
Ray moves into the clinch.
Ray ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ray no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ray throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Elmer Ray overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ray has Holt pulled in close to control his posture.
Ray manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Holt manages to get himself to full guard.

Ray slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ray wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Holt takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Ray decides to stand up, so the ref orders Holt to his feet.
Ray misses with the combination.
Ray displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Holt. Ray does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Holt misses the jab.
Holt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ray.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ray takes the fight into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ray drags the fight down to the ground.
Ray has his hands on Holt's head, controlling the position.
Ray keeping full guard, as Holt tries to pass.

Holt wants to control from the top but Ray keeps moving.
Ray is pulling down on Holt's head to control his posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Elmer Ray has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ray is looking to clinch but Holt is avoiding it.
Holt misses with a hook.
Ray gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Holt tries to score a body lock takedown but Ray shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Holt shoots in for a double leg but Ray sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Holt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ray manages to avoid it.

Holt looks to land a right hand but Ray moved out of range.
Ray blocks the body kick.
Holt lands a nice shot that snaps Ray's head back.
Ray forces Holt back against the cage and clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holt looking for a takedown.
Holt has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ray is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ray stalling against the cage.
Ray gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Holt.
Ray lands a right hand that snaps the head of Holt backwards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oooooh!!! Ray has knocked Holt down with a huge combo! Ray steps away and waves a wobbly Holt back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Holt is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Ray has cracked Holt with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Ray lands another huge swinging hook and Holt tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Holt, before Ray can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Elmer Ray!
