Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Bruncher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gurney Halleck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruncher will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bruncher manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Halleck on his heels. He'll look to pass Halleck's guard now, I'm sure.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Jason Bruncher wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bruncher shoots in for a double leg but Halleck sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Halleck gets tackled into the cage by Bruncher. Bruncher maintains the clinch.
Halleck changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bruncher fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bruncher wants to take a breather but Halleck is having none of it.
Halleck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bruncher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Bruncher.

Halleck is looking to clinch but Bruncher is avoiding it.

Bruncher throws out a loose jab but Halleck uses good head movement to avoid it.
Halleck keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Halleck goes for a takedown attempt but Bruncher pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Halleck. No joy for Bruncher on that attempt.

Gurney Halleck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bruncher tries for a takedown but Halleck sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bruncher shoots in looking for a takedown. Halleck tries to sprawl out of it but Bruncher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Halleck manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bruncher tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Halleck just stands there and leans against the cage.

Bruncher has Halleck pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bruncher pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Halleck tumbling to the mat - Bruncher dives into Halleck's guard.

Halleck feints a jab promting Bruncher to slip. Halleck then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bruncher slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Bruncher shoots in for a takedown but Halleck shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
