Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Alliner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Alliner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony John!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alliner thows a body kick. John tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Alliner takes the fight into the clinch.
John jumps guard but Alliner stands there with John around his waist. John gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
John looks gassed!

Alliner breaks from the clinch.
John stuffs the takedown attempt from Alliner. Alliner gets slowly back to his feet.
John takes a kick to the side of the head.

Alliner darts in and clinches John up against the cage.
John has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alliner is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
John can't get the takedown.
Jean Alliner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony John.
John prevents the takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

John tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alliner smiles and moves away.
John stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and John wants it to stay on the feet.

Alliner lands with a good body shot.
Alliner goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Alliner clinches up against the cage.
Alliner will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning John up against the cage.

Alliner has John pressed against the cage, preventing John from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
John is trying to force a seperation but Alliner has the dominant position.

Alliner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alliner tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alliner instigates a clinch.
John misses with a body punch.
Alliner tries to pull guard but John holds him up against the cage and eventually Alliner drops back down to his feet.
John tries for a takedown but Alliner manages to get underhooks.

Alliner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alliner misses with a wild combination.
Alliner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
John looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alliner is fending him off so far but John persists. Nope, Alliner circles away and we're back to standing.

Alliner lands a slapping body shot.
Alliner with a nice cross.
Alliner shoots in and drives through. John sprawls well.
Alliner scores with a spinning back kick!
John closes the distance looking to clinch
and Alliner counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Alliner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

John displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alliner.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jean Alliner.
John moves to clinch but Alliner breaks away
and Alliner counters with a big head kick but John shrugs it off.

Alliner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

John throws a leg kick but Alliner sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Alliner misses with a takedown attempt - John sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

John pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alliner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. John defends it nicely.

John shoots in but no luck this time.

John moves in looking to clinch but Alliner pushes him off.
Alliner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says John as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Alliner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Alliner or perhaps it was just good defense by John which made him look bad.
John tries to clinch there but Alliner circles away.
John misses with a head kick.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Alliner.
Alliner avoiding damage.

Alliner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. John just stands there and leans against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

John tries to stall but Alliner uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alliner pulls guard successfully.

John throws and elbow that misses. Alliner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in John's guard. Nice move by Alliner!
John is trying to control the position but Alliner postures up.
Alliner content to stall in guard here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
John just misses with a punch to the body.

Alliner throws a leg kick which misses John's front leg but catches the back leg as John tries to avoid it.

Alliner closes the distance and clinches.

Alliner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
John throws a strike but Alliner rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Alliner tries to score a body lock takedown but John shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Alliner jumps guard.
John wants to pass the guard but Alliner is keeping the position.
Alliner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
John looking to sit in guard and control but Alliner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
John not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jean Alliner showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Alliner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
