The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as The Bricklayer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The Bricklayer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ellis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The Bricklayer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ellis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The Bricklayer checks a leg kick.

The Bricklayer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ellis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Bricklayer just stands there and leans against the cage.

Ellis is fighting off a takedown attempt but The Bricklayer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ellis to the mat. Ellis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
