Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett Landers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Shumacher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landers comes to the cage accompanied by The Sounds - Tony The Beat. Shumacher has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shumacher has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Brett Landers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shumacher looks gassed!
Shumacher displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Landers throws out the jab.
Landers goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Landers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shumacher's head backwards.
Landers throws a right and a left that Shumacher avoids nicely.
Shumacher walks into a straight right hand from Landers.

Landers has managed to clinch.
Landers lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shumacher backwards.
Landers lands a shoulder strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Landers is trying to trip Shumacher. He has hold of a leg but Shumacher is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Landers persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Landers wants to control from the top but Shumacher keeps moving.
Shumacher has momentary wrist control but Landers slips an elbow through the middle.

Landers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Shumacher is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Landers is working Shumacher over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Landers postures up and lands a big shot to Shumacher's brow.
Landers tries to free his leg and advance position but Shumacher is retaining full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Landers arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Shumacher's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
