These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light throws a looping overhand right but Bruso ducks down to avoid it.
A head kick from Light lands but Bruso takes it in his stride.

Bobby Light seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Light throws the kick towards the body but Bruso avoids it.
Bruso stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bruso wants it to stay on the feet.

Thomas Bruso has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bruso goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Light checks the leg kick nicely there.

Light takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
