The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lampley as he jumps to the side.
George shoots in but no luck this time.

and Lampley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in George's guard.
Lampley postures up and lands a big shot to George's brow.
Lampley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

George feints and as Lampley raises his hands in defense, George changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lampley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lampley is on top in guard.
George has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lampley has passed into side control.

Lampley decides to stand back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lampley tries to close the distance and clinch up but George swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lampley has hold of George's arm. He's looking for a kimura. George seems comfortable defending it but Lampley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! George is real pain and he's forced to tap out! George is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lampley couldn't care less - he's delighted!
