Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Thomason!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hearns lands a nice shot to the body.
Thomason fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Thomason fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Thomason shoots in looking for a takedown. Hearns tries to sprawl out of it but Thomason keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hearns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hagler Hearns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Thomason.
Hearns wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Thomason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hearns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hearns throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hearns scores with a decent looking hook.
Fred Thomason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomason avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hearns stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hearns wants it to stay on the feet.
Thomason looks gassed!
Thomason doesn't manage to clinch there - Hearns circles away.
Hearns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hearns drops Thomason with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Thomason! Hearns dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hagler Hearns!
After winning the bout, Hagler Hearns thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
