PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stan Frisko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams has chosen Beats Mode - B.o.B. as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stan Frisko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Williams!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frisko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Williams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Frisko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Williams wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, if Frisko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Frisko stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Williams to get to his feet.
Frisko leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Frisko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Williams is fending him off so far but Frisko persists. Nope, Williams circles away and we're back to standing.
Frisko stuffs the takedown.
No joy there for Frisko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Frisko shows good takedown defense.
Stan Frisko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Williams.

Frisko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frisko swivels and escapes.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frisko sprawls well. Frisko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.

Frisko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Frisko is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Williams pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Frisko tries to pull guard but Williams won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Frisko seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Williams is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Frisko throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Frisko tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Williams avoids it.
Williams prevents Frisko from breaking the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Frisko.

Frisko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Frisko, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Frisko against the cage but Frisko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Frisko throws a head kick but Williams moves out of range.
Williams fails with the takedown
and Frisko counters with a series of strikes. Williams will be more careful next time no doubt.
Frisko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Frisko stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Williams checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Frisko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Frisko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Williams takes one on the button.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Williams.
Frisko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frisko sprawls well. Frisko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Frisko lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Williams blocks a head kick by Frisko.
Frisko shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Williams fails to land the takedown.
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown. Frisko tries to sprawl out of it but Williams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Frisko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frisko looks to land a body kick but Williams moved away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No luck for Williams with that takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Frisko as he avoids it easily.
