Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rawlings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Neckpunch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rawlings comes into the arena with Hells Bells blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawlings shoots in for a double leg but Neckpunch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rawlings tries to close the distance and clinch but Neckpunch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rawlings is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rawlings tries to clinch up but Neckpunch circles away and keeps his distance.
Neckpunch stuffs the takedown.
Rawlings wants to clinch up but Neckpunch keeps it at a distance.

Neckpunch with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rawlings to score with a decent uppercut.

Neckpunch pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Rawlings steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Neckpunch.
Rawlings is looking to clinch but Neckpunch is avoiding it.

Rawlings clinches.
Rawlings is working for takedown but Neckpunch is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Rawlings. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Neckpunch.
Neckpunch tries to score a body lock takedown but Rawlings shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rawlings has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Neckpunch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Neckpunch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

You can see the frustration on Rawlings's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Neckpunch has hold of Rawlings's hands but Rawlings slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rawlings is nestled in close to Neckpunch, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Rawlings wants to clinch but Neckpunch slips to the side
and Neckpunch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Neckpunch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rawlings scores with a jab.
Neckpunch avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rawlings misses with the combination.
Rawlings throws a right and a left that both miss.

Rawlings clinches up against the cage.
Rawlings blocks an uppercut.
Neckpunch pushes off an throws an elbow but Rawlings leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Rawlings tries to pull guard but Neckpunch won't allow it.
Neckpunch misses with some punches.
Neckpunch lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Rawlings escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Neckpunch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Neckpunch is in close to Rawlings's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Oh Rawlings is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Neckpunch landing some decent shots from guard.

Rawlings can't keep his opponent in guard - Neckpunch advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Neckpunch uses his free foot to push down on Rawlings's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rawlings.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rawlings takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Neckpunch postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rawlings looks a forlorn figure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
