Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Benson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Drake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Benson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Benson. Drake shoots in and drives through. Benson sprawls well. Benson throws out a leg kick but Drake moves out of range and Benson only half commits. Drake checks the leg kick. Benson misses with an uppercut. Benson misses with a straight left. Benson's corner calls for a 1-2. Benson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Nick Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Benson misses with a two punch combination.
Drake keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Benson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Benson wants it to stay on the feet. Drake shoots in looking for a takedown but Benson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drake's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Drake. That's going to take a lot out of him. Drake is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Drake is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Benson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Drake is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Benson is trying to escape and Drake transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Benson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Drake! Very nice indeed!
