The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hagler is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hagler closes the distance and clinches up with Howard, looking for a takedown. Hagler pushes Howard against the cage but Howard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hagler misses with a wild combination.

Howard clinches up with Hagler and pushes him back against the cage.
Howard wants to break the clinch but can't.
Howard can't break the clinch.
Howard is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Howard lands a nice uppercut.
Hagler blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Howard working hard to break the clinch.
Howard misses with some punches.

Hagler breaks the clinch.
Hagler stalks Howard and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Howard's face. Howard staggers backwards, shaken.
Howard scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hagler in his tracks.
Hagler fails to land with a series of punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hagler fails with the takedown.
Hagler tries to clinch but Howard is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Howard tests Hagler's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Howard instigates a clinch.
Howard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hagler drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Harold Howard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Hagler.
Howard lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hagler.
Howard tries to break the clinch but Hagler is controlling the position.
A frustrated look appears on Howard's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hagler prevents Howard from breaking the clinch.
Howard lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Howard works on Hagler's body with a couple of short punches.
Hagler looks gassed!
Howard lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hagler backwards.
Hagler blocks an uppercut.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Howard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Still in the clinch, Howard scores with a nice short uppercut.
Howard makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hagler blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Howard misses with a short punch on the inside.

Howard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Howard thows a body shot but no joy.
Howard throws a right and a left that both miss.
A jab lands there for Howard.
Hagler swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Howard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hagler is rocked!
Howard looks to land a right hand but Hagler moved out of range.
Howard works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hagler is still on wobbly legs! Can Howard finish him?
Howard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Howard throws an overhand right that lands on Hagler's shoulder, as Hagler tries to avoid the shot.
Hagler get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Hagler stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Howard runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
