PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Collin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aoki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sudo has chosen Armour Of God Thème as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sudo dives in and scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sudo controls the pace.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sudo defends it easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johnson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sudo off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson is looking for a choke. Sudo gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Sudo manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Sudo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sudo stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sudo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Sudo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Sudo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A close round but Aoki Sudo will probably get the nod.

Johnson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sudo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Johnson manages to get to full guard.

Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Johnson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sudo stacks Johnson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sudo!
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face as Sudo controls the position.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sudo on the ground.
Johnson parries the strikes from Sudo easily there. Sudo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Johnson to escape.
Johnson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sudo is taking a breather. Johnson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Aoki Sudo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sudo unloads with some shots from mount but Johnson bucks and avoids them well.

Sudo throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Sudo breaks the hold and Johnson is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Sudo!
