PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Filipovic might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Duran duran - Wild Boys. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Casey throws a sloppy body shot
and Filipovic counters with a straight right hand.
Casey cracks Filipovic with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Casey thuds a left hand into Filipovic's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Filipovic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

It looks like Mirko Filipovic has been cut.
Filipovic throws a wild body kick that Casey sees coming a mile off.
Filipovic avoids a punch combination nicely.
Filipovic on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Filipovic is breathing heavily.
Casey swings for the body but Filipovic moves out of range.
Casey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Casey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Filipovic.

Casey drops Filipovic with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Filipovic looks back up at him and smiles so Casey waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Casey is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Filipovic rather than just go for the knockout.
Filipovic takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Filipovic walks into a left hand.
Casey thuds a left hand into Filipovic's body.
Casey swinging wildly here.
Filipovic takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Casey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Filipovic was well out of range. Poor timing from Casey.
BOOM! Casey lands a beautiful left hook that drops Filipovic. Filipovic tries to recover but Casey is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Filipovic lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
