Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hong Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillipe Nover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phillipe Nover is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hong Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phillipe Nover!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nover's waist but Nover gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kong off to one side.
Kong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kong throws a head kick that misses.
Nover stuffs the takedown.

Nover throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kong was covering up waiting for the punch and Nover finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Nover trying to control but Kong is working from the bottom.
Nover postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Nover drops back looking for a leg! Kong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kong manages to kick Nover off! Nover jumps back into Kong's guard.
Kong is looking to stand up but Nover isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nover is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kong is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kong has escaped and now he's on top!
Kong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kong in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Nover is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nover is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kong trying to control the position from guard on top but Nover is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hong Kong just wasn't active enough.
Nover moves out of range as Kong strikes.
Kong fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hong Kong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kong throws a wild body kick that Nover sees coming a mile off.

Kong closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nover to the mat! Nover manages to get full guard.
Kong is breathing heavily.
Kong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Kong wants to stand but Nover is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nover is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nover wants to work for an arm triangle but Kong is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nover is looking for a kimura but Kong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nover to get the leverage.
Nover is trying to control the action in half guard but Kong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Nover is looking for a kimura here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nover lands a nice short elbow.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nover wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kong keeps working.

Nover is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kong sees it coming and defends easily.

Nover is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nover.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nover maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kong could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Nover has cracked it and Kong is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Nover!
