Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Altropos Takota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Altropos Takota has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kazushi Sakuraba's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Altropos Takota!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba lands with a thumping leg kick.
Takota tries to bum rush Sakuraba with a series of wild strikes but Sakuraba uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Takota fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown but Takota shows good takedown defense.
Sakuraba takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sakuraba will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Takota cracks Sakuraba with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Sakuraba dives in and grabs Takota's left leg, looking for a takedown. Takota pushes down on Sakuraba's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kazushi Sakuraba. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kazushi Sakuraba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Takota has knocked Sakuraba down with a huge combo! Takota steps away and waves a wobbly Sakuraba back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Takota fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakuraba manages to avoid it.

Sakuraba lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Takota circles away quickly and effectively.
No joy there for Takota, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sakuraba is defended easily by Takota.
Sakuraba takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

A looping hook to the body misses from Takota. Sakuraba does a little dance to reset his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sakuraba manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Takota on his heels. He'll look to pass Takota's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takota utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Takota throws a series of punches but Sakuraba moves out of range.
Sakuraba changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Takota looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Takota is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Sakuraba has knee on belly and moves into mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takota can do anything to dispel that myth.
Takota has left one of his arms exposed and Sakuraba doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Takota screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
