Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Varicella Zoster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Ghirardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicholas Ghirardi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoster lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zoster throws a shot from downtown. Ghirardi moves away and avoids it.
Ghirardi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zoster moves away.
Ghirardi dodges the punch combination from Zoster.
Zoster throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ghirardi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Zoster!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ghirardi controlling from mount.
Let's hope that Ghirardi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Zoster is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ghirardi controlling his opponent.
Zoster regains half guard.
Ghirardi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nicholas Ghirardi wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ghirardi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Ghirardi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ghirardi throws a nice looking combination but Zoster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zoster tries to bum rush Ghirardi with a series of wild strikes but Ghirardi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zoster misses with a series of wild punches.
Ghirardi walks into a straight right hand from Zoster.
Zoster moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Ghirardi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ghirardi.

Zoster is looking for a triangle here but Ghirardi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Zoster is breathing heavily.
