Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peters comes to the cage accompanied by Sevendust - Enemy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wes Morris!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Morris throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Peters swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Morris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Morris thuds his shin into the meat of Peters's side.
Wes Morris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morris throws an overhand right that lands on Peters's shoulder, as Peters tries to avoid the shot.
Peters changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Morris just misses with a punch to the body.
Peters scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Morris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peters.
Morris throws a head kick but Peters moves out of range.
Morris ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Peters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morris as he jumps to the side.
Peters throws an overhand right that lands on Morris's shoulder, as Morris tries to avoid the shot.

Morris jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Peters closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Morris did well to prevent Peters getting side control.

Morris is looking for a sweep. Peters is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Morris is trying to maintain the position but Peters is very close to passing his half guard.
Morris has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Peters looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Morris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Morris wants to control but Peters is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Peters bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Morris's head.
Morris throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Peters's head.

Morris connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Morris keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Peters.
Peters gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Morris.
Morris fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morris throws the left hand but Peters avoids the punch easily.
Morris throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Peters tries to bum rush Morris with a series of wild strikes but Morris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Peters takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Peters misses with a kick to the body.
Morris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Morris lands with a kick to the temple. Peters shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Morris throws a head kick but Peters moves out of range.
Morris moves out of range of the strikes.
Peters misses with a looping left.
Morris moves in looking to clinch but Peters pushes him off.
Morris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Peters doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Peters scores a takedown into full mount!
Peters looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Peters lands a heavy elbow.
BOOM! Peters connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Peters will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Peters shoots for a double leg takedown but Morris sprawls well. He's pushed Peters's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peters blocks a head kick by Morris.
The fight stays on the outside here - Morris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Morris throws the left hand but Peters avoids the punch easily.

Morris tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peters was well out of range. Poor timing from Morris.

Peters throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morris loads up on a big right hand but Peters slips the punch.

Morris throws a sloppy head kick and Peters moves out of range easily.
Morris scores with a jab. Peters acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Peters comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Peters counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Morris manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peters manages to get himself to full guard.

Peters is looking for a triangle but Morris pushes his legs off easily.

Morris looks to land a strike but Peters avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Peters lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Morris!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peters wants to control the pace but Morris is squirming around nicely.

Peters moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Morris has worked his arm free - good work by Morris!

Morris takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Morris throws a right and a left that both miss.

Peters throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morris was covering up waiting for the punch and Peters finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Morris is trying to keep Peters in close.

Peters thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Peters postures up in Morris's guard and throws a big left but Morris blocks it.
Peters is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Peters looking to sit in guard and control but Morris gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Morris throws a big right hand that misses.
Morris wants to control from the top but Peters keeps moving.

Peters isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Morris stacks Peters on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Morris!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peters, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
