The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fingers throws a lazy head kick

and Hirmuinen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hirmuinen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hirmuinen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fingers has control of Hirmuinen's left arm, preventing Hirmuinen from doing any damage.

Hirmuinen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fingers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hirmuinen has Fingers in his guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franky Fingers wasn't active enough on the ground.

Fingers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Hirmuinen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fingers controls Hirmuinen momentarily but Hirmuinen frees himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fingers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hirmuinen manages to avoid it.

It looks like Hord Hirmuinen has been cut.
Fingers Throws a clean left jab. Fingers Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Hirmuinen's chin! Hirmuinen crumbles to the ground and Fingers follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Fingers!
