Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eikichi Onizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Black has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like John Black has been cut.

Black looking to score a takedown here. Onizuka is defending well but Black drives through and ends up in Onizuka's guard.

Black drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Onizuka manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Black has Onizuka in his guard.
Black manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Onizuka manages to get himself to full guard.
Black passes Onizuka's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Black is trying to control. Onizuka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Black takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's time! Onizuka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Onizuka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Onizuka thuds his right hand into Black's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Onizuka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Black doesn't seem bothered though.
Onizuka looks to land a body kick but Black moved away.

Onizuka does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Onizuka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Black sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Black counters with a series of strikes. Onizuka will be more careful next time no doubt.

Onizuka throws a shot to the body.
Onizuka throws a sloppy head kick and Black moves out of range easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Onizuka jumps guard and drags Black to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Onizuka is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Black is controlling him.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Black accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Black wants to pass the guard but Onizuka is keeping the position.

Onizuka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Onizuka tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Onizuka throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease.
Onizuka looks to land a body kick but Black moved away.
Onizuka is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Black looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Black tries to clinch but Onizuka is having none of it.
Onizuka finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Black tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Onizuka dips to his left and cracks Black with an uppercut!
John Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Black is breathing heavily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Black checks a leg kick.

Black shoots in and bounces Onizuka off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Onizuka wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Black tries to free his leg and advance position but Onizuka is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Black fails with an attempt to clinch.
Onizuka scores with a hook to the body. Black takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Onizuka lands with an uppercut that bounces Black off the cage and back into range.
Onizuka thows a leg kick but Black checks it
and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Eikichi Onizuka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Onizuka clobbers Black with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Onizuka is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Onizuka makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Onizuka.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Onizuka kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
