Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Doe has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Doe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe fails with an attempt to clinch.

Spencer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Doe to the mat! Doe manages to get full guard.
Doe is looking to stand up but Spencer isn't so interested in that idea.
Doe trying to keep a closed guard but Spencer is proving a slippery customer.
Spencer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spencer on the ground.

Spencer stands up from Doe's guard - Spencer perhaps looking for a knockout.

Spencer closes the distance and clinches.
Spencer wants a takedown but no success here.
Doe tries to stall but Spencer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Spencer wants to get back to striking at distance but Doe won't allow it.

Doe manages to break the clinch.

Spencer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
John Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drew Spencer.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Spencer just misses with a elbow thrown towards Doe's brow.

Spencer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Spencer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Doe's guard.

Spencer wants to stand and escape but instead Doe has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Spencer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Spencer wants to sweep here but Doe controlling him for the moment.
Doe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Doe postures up in Spencer's guard and throws a big left but Spencer blocks it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Doe lands a head kick!


It looks like Drew Spencer has been cut.
Doe tries for a takedown but Spencer circles away easily

and Spencer counters with a takedown into side control.
Spencer works to advance to full mount. Doe defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Spencer lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Spencer unloads with some shots from mount but Doe bucks and avoids them well.

Spencer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Doe is now in Spencer's guard. A big mistake from Spencer there, giving up the dominant position!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doe is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Spencer looking for a guillotine here but Doe defends easily.
Spencer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Doe wants to control from the top but Spencer keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Spencer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doe tries to avoid it but Spencer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doe to the ground. Doe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Spencer gets a takedown into half guard.
Spencer working Doe over with strikes.
Doe keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Spencer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Doe is trying to stand up here but Spencer is controlling him well.

Spencer stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Spencer tries to clinch there but Doe circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Doe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Spencer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Spencer manages to break the clinch.
Spencer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Spencer gets a takedown into half guard.
Well, if Spencer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Spencer stalling away here and it's allowed Doe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Spencer is pushing down on Doe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Doe is fighting to maintain full guard but Spencer has managed to sneak the leg through.

and Spencer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Doe wants to get back to his feet but Spencer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Spencer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Doe shoots and misses

and Spencer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Doe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spencer wants a takedown.
Doe stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Spencer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Doe pulls him back up using the underhooks.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Spencer closes the distance and clinches.
Doe has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spencer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Spencer tries to pull guard but Doe holds him up against the cage and eventually Spencer drops back down to his feet.
Doe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Doe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Doe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Spencer.
Nice takedown defense from Doe. No joy for Spencer on that attempt.
Doe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Spencer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Doe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Doe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Doe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Spencer counters with a single leg into guard. Doe didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doe wants to sweep but no luck.
Spencer trying to control but Doe is working from the bottom.
Spencer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spencer lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Doe keeping moving, preventing Spencer from controlling successfully.
Doe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Doe is pressing down on Spencer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Spencer is holding on for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Doe wants to work for an arm triangle but Spencer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Spencer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Doe pushing down on Spencer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Spencer wants to control but Doe is keeping busy.

Spencer manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Doe lands a body shot.
Doe throws a nice looking combination but Spencer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Doe throws the kick towards the body but Spencer avoids it.

and Spencer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Doe's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doe lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Spencer!
Doe lands a big shot there that rocks Spencer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Doe lands a nice shot to the head.
Spencer slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Spencer wants to get back to his feet.

Doe not doing much here.

Spencer kicks off Doe and gets to his feet.
Doe doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Doe won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spencer decides to stand back up. Spencer steps back and let's Doe get back to his feet.
Doe avoids the head kick by Spencer.
Doe closes the distance looking to clinch

and Spencer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doe drags the fight down to the ground.
Spencer passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Drew Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Spencer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
