The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai Gi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kai Gi wants it to stay on the feet.
Kai Gi throws a left and a right that both miss
and St Lopez counters with a single leg into guard. Kai Gi didn't expect that.
St Lopez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kai Gi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

St Lopez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
St Lopez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

St Lopez is posturing up here but Kai Gi has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! St Lopez tries to roll out but it's too tight and St Lopez has to tap! Slick submission there by Kai Gi!
