The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws an off balance right hand
and Face connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Jay Johnson has been cut.
Face defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Face dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Face keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jay Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Face!
Face is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.

Johnson works his foot free and advances to mount.
Face is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnson has a good base and remains in mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson is landing with some decent strikes but Face is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Johnson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Face knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
