PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Xander Arapeta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yushin Okami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arapeta comes to the ring accompanied by The Sound by Switchfoot. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arapeta tries to clinch up but Okami circles away and keeps his distance.
Okami throws a combination. Arapeta tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Xander Arapeta has been cut.
A combination from Okami does no damage.
Arapeta tries a head kick but it misses.
Arapeta is looking to clinch.
Okami scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Arapeta keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Okami misses with a wild combination.
Arapeta steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Okami.
Arapeta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Okami stuns Arapeta with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Arapeta has taken the fight to the clinch.
Okami looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Arapeta manages to break the clinch.
Okami misses with a hook. Arapeta ducked under it nicely.
Okami throws a body punch but Arapeta moves out of range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Okami darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Arapeta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Okami's head backwards.

Okami swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Arapeta counters with a right hand to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arapeta looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Okami swats away the attempt to clinch by Arapeta.
Okami lands the left hand.
A big right from Okami misses.
Okami looks to land a combination. Arapeta sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Okami swinging wildly here.

Okami jabs Arapeta to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Arapeta is breathing heavily.
Okami scores with a punch to the head.
Arapeta drops his hands momentarily and Okami takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Arapeta is rocked!
Arapeta tries to clinch up.

Okami sends Arapeta crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Okami is motioning to the referee to let Arapeta up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Arapeta is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Okami missing with a left hand there. Arapeta was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Okami swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Okami knocks out Arapeta with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Okami before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Okami picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yushin Okami!
Yushin Okami was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
